Hey everyone, how are we doing today?

I recently started a new part-time so I have some less time on my hands. It's really nice so far despite it not being in my creative field.

I figured today I would post some studies that I did recently.

This was closer to drawing from observation, trying to work out the shapes of the ballerina and eventually try my hand at the rendering. I'm proud of the form but it's kinda obvious that the hair was phoned in since I adjusted the model to be Monette. But, I at least tried to introduce a similar type of movement in the strands.

This one was way more heavily referenced and was more a shot at rendering practice. The original photo showed a lot of sweat on the skin as well as cool textures on the bikini so I wanted to try and reflect that. I exchanged the models to be Ceceilia and Camille.

That's it for now. I really want to improve my art and these studies did help add some perspective.

Hello everypony.

How are we all doing this week? I'm currently getting over the last few days of a cold. Other than that: most of my tme is spent job hunting. Recently left my usual place of work because it was doing me in for mental health. So now, I'm looking for new places.

With the extra ton of free time I've been able to put a lot of work into the illustrations and characters again. In general I've also been able to keep a good eye on my health. (Minus being sick...)

That being said: Here's a few new characters that I doodled up not too long ago.

Devin: He's a cousin I made for another character named Josh. Josh belongs to a friend- but Devin was born for my macabre interest in mass shooters after getting a glimpse from people in the 'shooter' community. I don't really agree with those folk, but I thought it'd be interesting to approach a cariacture of the men they romanticize. That being said, Devin can be summed up as a brooding, violent loner who's having trouble dealing with his sexuality. Unsure if he'll eventually commit a crime but, he does already have a criminal record.

Valerie: Another addition to the Pococo Police Station (And if you don't know what the hell I just said, visit the Toyhouse.) And currently second in command. She's the muscle of the station with sweet gains and an even sweeter heart. I'd say her personality is professional but slightly aloof.

And there's here's a scary pair:

Serial killers who rise from the dead every halloween in Pococo.

Mr.E has an inexplicable effect on his victims where whoever he's chasing can be transported in and out of the 80s. Molly is his seemingly harmless but threatening goofy sidekick... it's uncertain if she's even dead or not. She just likes to scare people and is usually present whenever E performs a massacre.

I made this video as a dumb little meme and had to draw a few extra headshots for the ocs that didn't have art of them already. Figure I'd share some of these here, as they didn't warrant a whole art post.

Alternate Universes or AUs.

I find them pretty fun, I always think it's cool to imagine a character- whether your own or someone else's in a completely new environment with different circumstances surrounding them. It allows you to do stuff with them you normally couldn't, which is why I like them.

I try to keep most of my art canon to my ocs, but once in a while I do like bringing ocs as they are in some aus to life.

Cyrus is someone I do this often with.

So here's her as a princes, then as a peasant.

I relate a lot to Cyrus, so I think that'd why I bend the rules for her so much.

Hey Guys, me again.

You'll find these days I'm pretty inconsistent when it comes to postng, I try to go with the flow these days in accordanc with my mental health. But, not really here to talk about me. I am here to show off a sketch of Geisha.

Ever since I first made her, I thought she woud've been a one off character. But, as more time went on I actually really came to like the first concept of her design. I just needed to adjust it some more so it could actually fit better to her model name of 'C-4 Centipede'. Initially, she gave off more of a Mantid vibe.

I think the part I like most about this is her new holographic display. I like to imagine it in motion.

'Core' is always one of the strangest things I notice about internet content. I don't know where the word came from or what exactly it means. But I participate in a lot of 'core'. Nightcore, Breakcore, Speedcore (Ah but, that's all just music isn't it?)

But I am also a fan of the visual aspects of animecore and weirdcore.

Weirdcore feels like uncanny valley central. Comforting but unsettling at the same time. Childish and creepy. There's something about it that I can relate to- and I started to think about my oc Alixander relating to it. She always feels weird, different and out of place while being drawn to the bizarre. So, it's a perfect aesthetic for her.

I got the funny idea for a doodle where she asks some weirdcore entity to be friends. Very on brand for her.

I often think about what my characters would be like when they get older. (This usually applies to the ocs that are very young i.e adolescents.) Some of them have a straight path while others just have the possbility of branching out into multiple concepts. Chamomile has a lot of potential on how he could end up- but one day I decided to entertain if she grew into liking alternative clothing.

I've been up and down myself and maybe one day I'll talk more about it but, for now I'd rather show off this art.

Hey guys, long time no see. I took a break when 2022 started because I was heaving some mental health struggles. Just really needed time to sort of evaluate myself, my wants, my direction. Different stuff. I'm not even necesarily done- but I am ready to start sharing that journey and showing you guys different experiments.

One thing was what to do with doodles and sketches. I always felt weird about making art posts for doodles. It always feels like it sticks out a bit sorely in the whole portfolio if it isn't polished enough. But, I guess I can show off doodles in blogs instead and you guys can tell me how it looks. So here: have one.

This was actually drawn in DEC. A friend's oc getting a mall job to pay for their hobby.

Pretty cute. I got the name Pippi from The Witch's Heart where I met my lord and savoir: Pippi the forest fairy.

A server I’ve been working on in the background for a while. I’m happy to say that as of today it will be officially open to the public so that others can enjoy it as much as I already do. I wanted to make a place for people who love original content, where they can write, read, and ramble about it without worry. It's comfortable, casual and has a special place for ocs. This server is for writers, artists, roleplayers, and readers. So hoenstly don't worry if you don't have a certain skillset. The likeminded interest is all that matters!

Not to mention, there's a lot of stuff that goes behind the scenes be it art w.i.p or writing drafts along with general infodumping that doesn't make it to Toyhouse, or at least not right away. I use Toyhouse for my official archiving, so to have a fun place for the same purpose would be nice.

16+  I do not want to limit the server to adults only, but that being said there are designated channels for mature/nsfw content. I ask that minors stay away from these channels but still hold a certain level of maturity for the sfw channels!
